BOXING FOR BETTER C.I.C.
Community Boxing
WHAT IS COMMUNITY BOXING?
Our community boxing programmes were set up to give young people in disadvantaged areas an opportunity to take part in regular boxing sessions delivered by qualified coaches in their local communities. All of our community boxing programmes are completely free and the team work very hard raising money and attracting funding to ensure these sessions remain free. As well as free weekly boxing sessions we also regularly engage our participants in skills days and social action projects including first aid training, litter picking and other personal development experiences.
All our sessions are available to any young person aged 9 to 16 and each offer an opportunity to gain accredited awards through the boxing awards programme. The boxing awards are nationally recognised awards that can be used towards GCSE's, Btec or D of E.
We pride ourselves on our holistic approach to our sessions where the main focus is on giving young people the opportunity to experience positive physical activity in a safe and supportive environment where they will develop skills, improve their fitness, enhance their self esteem and confidence and improve their mental health.
